METHCESFUEL is developed by a multidisciplinary consortium of 10 partners across 3 European countries:

Specialises in energy storage and thermal systems. Researchers have wide experience in European and national projects. They have studied the global METHCESFUEL concept in previous papers and patents, contributing to model development and laboratory tests for concept characterisation.

R&D Centre

The Chemical Process & Energy Resources Institute (CPERI) has extensive experience in process design, advanced control, carbon capture, mathematical modelling, renewables, biofuels, energy storage, green H₂ production, process Digital Twins, and pilot unit design, construction and commissioning.

Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf

R&D CENTRE

The Thermal Energy Technology group conducts research in thermal power engineering, energy-efficient industrial processes and energy storage. HZDR possesses significant expertise in process engineering, mathematical modelling, process dynamics and control in renewable supply frameworks, and techno-economic assessments.

The Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (ICE-HT) covers a broad range of disciplines including advanced materials, energy and environment research, and biotechnology. ICE-HT is one of the institutes of excellence in Greece with modern infrastructure and efficient services.

The largest scientific institution in Spain and 7th public research institution globally, with over 13,000 employees and 120+ research institutes. The group has solid experience in heterogeneous reactions of interest in CO₂ capture, energy-related processes and materials, with state-of-the-art laboratory facilities.

The Laboratory of Chemical Process and Plant Design has long-standing experience in process and system design, process integration, energy systems optimisation, biofuel production, carbon capture, renewable energy storage and management, and techno-economic and environmental assessment.

UNIVERSITY

Conducts pioneering studies on CO₂ capture and valorisation alongside thermochemical systems for energy storage. Dedicated to creating advanced materials that efficiently absorb CO₂ and convert it into valuable products, especially e-fuels.

International provider of consulting services for R&I activities, techno-economic analysis and policy implementation. Helps enterprises in the process, raw materials and energy sectors implement research and innovation activities, communication strategies and business development.

ENERGY DEVELOPER

Provides comprehensive energy services including design, development, construction and maintenance of energy facilities. Built and operates the first bifacial photovoltaic power plant in Europe (2020). Currently collaborates on large energy projects handling more than 1 GWp of photovoltaic energy.
